OWENSBORO (Feb. 8, 2022)
Superior Ag is now offering farmers access to CENTURO® nitrogen stabilizer, a Koch Agronomic Services (KAS) nitrogen efficiency product, at their Owensboro Riverport Authority bulk terminal. This exciting addition now gives Superior Ag the capability of offering farm-direct loads of UAN that are already mixed with a nitrogen stabilizer.

CENTURO® nitrogen stabilizer from Koch Agronomic Services is a nitrification inhibitor for anhydrous ammonia and UAN. Featuring a patented active ingredient, CENTURO offers highly effective below-ground nitrogen protection and unequaled flexibility in an easy-to-handle solution. It is the first EPA-registered nitrification inhibitor specially formulated for anhydrous ammonia in 40 years.

CENTURO’s formula is also 100 percent noncorrosive to the metals used in UAN equipment. This gives farmers the ability to add it to nurse tanks before, during or after the addition of UAN, leading to additional time-savings and potentially eliminating additional inhibitor stations.

“We are thrilled to have the capability of adding below-ground protection to our direct loads of UAN with CENTURO,” said Todd Meyer, Agronomy Sales Manager at Superior Ag. “Nitrogen is one of our customers’ biggest expenses and has the largest impact on yield. We know that protecting nitrogen from below-ground loss has provided a positive ROI for growers and maximizes the nutrients available for crop uptake. But with the large rainfall events we receive in southern Indiana, it is even more imperative that we help farmers protect their nitrogen from leaching and denitrification.”

Superior Ag’s terminal at the Owensboro Riverport Authority has options of 32% or 28% UAN and now the capability to custom blend CENTURO, into either of these mixes. For added convenience, the Owensboro terminal has capability for 24/7 access to picking up product.
