Recapping Superior Ag’s 2026 Agronomic Knowledge Day

Oct 20, 2026
On August 13, Superior Ag welcomed over 400 area farmers, industry professionals, and agricultural partners to our annual Agronomic Knowledge Day at the WinField United Answer Plot Vision Site in Dale, Indiana. Each year, Knowledge Day provides an opportunity to bring growers from across our trade territory together to learn about the latest agronomic practices, discuss challenges facing the industry, and explore opportunities to improve their operations.

With both morning and evening sessions, this year's event continued our focus on providing practical insights and valuable resources to help our growers succeed. A highlight of this year's event was keynote speaker Jacqui Fatka, Lead Economist, Farm Supply and Biofuels at CoBank, who presented "Top 10 Shifts to Watch in Agriculture." Her presentation offered a broader look at the forces influencing today's agricultural industry, from evolving market dynamics to emerging trends that could shape the future of farming. As growers navigate changing economic conditions and an increasingly complex agricultural landscape, understanding these shifts is an important part of planning for the years ahead.

Throughout the day, attendees heard from industry specialists on a variety of topics focused on improving crop performance, maximizing input investments and preparing for future growing seasons.

Redefining Nutrient Demands in High-Yield Corn | Dan Quinn and Jesse Uebelhoer explored the nutritional needs of high-yield corn production and the importance of understanding crop nutrient demands as growers continue pushing yield potential.

New Soybean Traits and Technologies | Randy Mette and Braxton Gunter discussed advancements in soybean traits and technologies, highlighting the evolving tools available to growers as they evaluate seed options and management strategies.

Maximizing Your Pass with Proven-Quality Adjuvants | Ryan Edwards and Scott Harmann focused on the role of adjuvants in crop protection applications and how selecting the right products can help growers get more value from each trip across the field.

Mitigating Weather Stresses with Timely Fertility and Micros | Isaac Schuetter and Mike Michel addressed the challenges unpredictable weather present throughout the growing season and the importance of timely fertility management and micronutrients in supporting crop health.

Getting Your Crops Started with High-Quality Seed Treatment | Joe Rickard and Casey Nurrenbern discussed the value of seed treatments and their role in protecting crops during the critical early stages of development.

Together, these sessions emphasized the importance of making informed agronomic decisions and using research-backed solutions to help maximize productivity and profitability.

Beyond the educational presentations, Knowledge Day provided opportunities for growers to connect with Superior Ag team members, industry representatives and fellow producers. Attendees had the chance to visit with vendors in the Expo Tent, learn more about available products and services, and begin conversations about early seed orders for the 2027 growing season. These connections are an important part of what makes Knowledge Day successful. By bringing together research, industry expertise and real-world farming experience, we can help growers explore new opportunities and make confident decisions for their operations.

Events like Knowledge Day wouldn't be possible without the hard work and dedication of many people. We extend our appreciation to our employees, guest speakers, industry partners and vendors who helped bring this year's event together.

Most importantly, thank you to the growers who joined us. We appreciate the opportunity to spend time with you, share knowledge and continue building relationships that extend well beyond the field.
