Remember the feeling when you won an award for a personal or professional achievement? Remember the feeling you had when you found out you were selected among all other candidates? The rewarding and humble feeling of accomplishment most likely made the award even more incomparable.

Local farmers are dedicated to their career and their farm. Sun up to sun down, their hard work and dedication is an essential part of what makes our communities thrive. Integrity. Innovation. Trust. It’s the values they share to provide excellence in the communities we serve. Each month we’re excepting nominations from the community to shine the spotlight on the “Cream of the Crop”. An area farmer working to make a difference.

Neighbors, friends, family, or businesses may nominate a “Cream of the Crop” Farmer, or candidates may nominate themselves. Nominations may be individuals, couples, or siblings whom are in partnership with the farm operations.

Who To Nominate:

Farmer(s) with outstanding agricultural production skills, who also demonstrate exceptional leadership within the agriculture community and operate their farm with sustainable & environmentally friendly practices. The farmer(s) must farm in Southern Indiana, or the bordering regions of Illinois or Kentucky. Successful nominations have recognizable agricultural production records, be recognized as a leader in their community and give back to their community. The candidate must be actively engaged in production agriculture.

Each month, a local farmer will be selected from the nominations submitted to become the “Cream of the Crop”. The farmer(s) will be presented with a “Cream of the Crop” Barn sign to proudly display at their farm. 14 News WFIE is a proud sponsor of “Cream of the Crop”, therefore the farmer will be able to share their story to the entire community on 14 News WFIE.
