One of Superior Ag’s missions always striving to stay on the forefront of innovation. Each season, the agronomy division at Superior Ag hosts a WinField AnswerPlot and collects data from member-customers who participate in research trials on their own farms as part of the Superior Ag Innovators Club. Results from these trials and the AnswerPlot are then collected by the Precision Ag team and presented at Superior Ag’s Innovators Summit event each year.

As an Innovator Club Member, Superior Ag customers gain knowledge and a network of area farmers who are all looking for innovative solutions on their farms. Innovator Club trials focus on disease & pest control, yield, planting date, new technology, and other important topics or products that are released in the industry.

This year, Superior Ag hosted over 70 of their Innovator Club growers at the 2022 Innovators Summit, which was held on December 8-9 at the French Lick Resort & Hotel. While at French Lick, growers learned about different Innovator Trial Results, Corn Genetic Advancement, Nitrogen Biologicals, Carbon Market & Opportunity for Ag Supply Chain, and 2023 Innovator Trials.

Paired with the Innovators Summit is the Women in Ag Summit. These annual sessions are focused on providing additional industry knowledge, professional development, inspiration and networking opportunities for those in attendance. This year, the group learned about Keeping Your Feet Firmly Planted in Times of Chaos with Sheryl Seib, Tools for Branding Your Farm or Business from Chelsea O’Brien, and completed a Board & Brush activity.

Another portion of the event is the announcement of each year’s Innovators Club High Yield Contest winners. We are happy to recognize this year’s winners below. During the evening session, Todd Meyer also shared insights on agriculture outside of corn and soybeans from his trip to the US Pacific Northwest.

The event concluded the following morning with joint sessions from German American Bank representatives about succession planning and creating a legacy for the future generation and a keynote address from Sarah Frey. Sarah is CEO of Frey Farms and author of the book, The Growing Season. Sarah shared her inspiring story of saving her family’s 80-acre farm and growing it into a seven-state pumpkin, melon, and fresh produce operation that is now the largest producer of pumpkins in the United States.

We want to thank all internal and external presenters again for sharing your valuable knowledge, and everyone who was in attendance! We are already looking forward to the 2023 program and event.
